PrintPoint has served hundreds of midsize commercial print shops for over 28 years, offering a comprehensive solution that users describe as "full featured" with everything from estimating to QuickBooks integration. The company provides highly responsive support, and some long-term users report having no complaints after 15+ years of use. The software excels at digital sheet-fed and large format estimating while tracking job progress through the production floor.

However, some print shop owners are exploring alternatives due to:

Extended and complex setup process — PrintPoint is "not an easy program to set up," with large shops reporting it can take "a couple months to enter customers, paper inventory, and pricing," significantly delaying implementation and ROI
Difficult form customization — Users experience "problems adjusting forms with spacing and moving lines to make boxes," making it challenging to create custom documents that match their shop's specific needs
Challenging reporting capabilities — Generating reports "can be difficult at times," limiting managers' ability to quickly access the business intelligence they need for decision-making
Outdated architecture without cloud access — PrintPoint is "not cloud-based, making remote access difficult," a significant limitation in today's work environment where owners and managers need to check on operations from anywhere
Dated user experience — After 28 years with incremental updates, the software shows its age with workflows and interfaces that feel antiquated compared to modern cloud-based competitors designed from the ground up for today's needs

If you need quick implementation to start seeing ROI sooner, want cloud-based access for remote management, or prefer modern software that's easier to customize and report on, the alternatives below offer more contemporary solutions built for today's commercial printing operations.
